Andrew Breitbart seems to be doing what most of the news media will not do…bring us the news. Maybe the media never did it and there were not alternative sources like Breitbart. Breitbart has been at the forefront of the recent exposure of ACORN as a corrupt organization. To be fair, Glen Beck and Bill O’Reilly have been investigating and reporting on ACORN for a while. Their problem was that their reports were full of detail and facts.
Breitbart gave us what most Americans crave…video. He had the explosive videos and chose to release one of them daily, each more explosive than the previous until even Charlie Gibson had to take note. Well played! Most elected officials were falling over themselves to vote to suspend funding for the embroiled group. Unfortunately President Obama has not followed the ACORN situation and “this is not the biggest issue facing the country. It’s not something I’m paying a lot of attention to.” One would hope that a president as smart as Obama could pay attention to multiple issues at the same time.
Breitbart seems to be on the forefront again with the NEA/Obama controversy. Again the story had been out, but Breitbart has been able to bring it to the front page. The tapes of the conference call are somewhat explosive. Many of us know that giving tax dollars to artists with the expectation that they will then create art supporting your policies is at a minimum unethical. The funny thing is that the White House probably did not even have to ask for the favors.
Hopefully more investigations will follow.
