Framing the Dialogue

The Big Dirt Nap

It isn’t hard to imagine what the drama in Rosemary Harris’ second thriller featuring Paula Holliday is going to be.  The Big Dirt Nap takes Holliday on a short trip to meet up with a friend and write an article about a rare titan arum (Corpse Flower) on display at a resort.  Her friend is late, she meets an unsavory character, the hotel seems bursting with secrets and Holliday is thrust into the middle of another police investigation.

I think one of the descriptions on the back of the book best describes this book; it is a “cozy.”  There is suspense, but it won’t have you uncomfortably on the edge of your seat; there is passion, but the kids could read this; there is violence, but not graphic; and there is a plot and if you are a detective you’ll enjoy trying to unearth the cuprit(s).

I like the term cozy and The Big Dirt Nap is a great way to relax with a good book.  I look forward to the next Dirty Business Mystery.  And yes there is a Corpse Flower…

The Corpse Flower can reach 10 feet tall.
