Update – Sé Questor

Barely a month ago the Obama Administration minions were all over the media predicting gloom, despair, and agony forthcoming from Obama’s plan (YES IT WAS HIS IDEA AND HE SIGNED IT INTO LAW IN 2011) for sequester as I pointed out in my original post available here.

Rather than trying to detail the obvious lies perpetrated by Obama regarding the reductions in the rate of growth (NO THEY ARE NOT ACTUAL SPENDING CUTS…THE FEDS JUST DON’T GET AS MUCH OF AN INCREASE IN SPENDING…I feel like I am screaming) there are two videos worth watching. The first is an exchange between Fox News’ Ed Henry and Obama’s Bagdad Bob, Jay Carney…

Update – If We Can Save One Child

A few days ago I posted about the hypocrisy of Obama and the Left using the tragedy of the Newtown murders to achieve their agenda about gun control. In that original post I listed several actions that would save a lot more children’s lives than their attack on the Constitution and the Second Amendment in particular. Some were serious, many were not, all were meant to prove a point. I failed to name the biggest thing that liberals like Obama can do to save children’s lives…millions of children’s lives…every single year!

Update – With Friends Like These

A few days ago I posted a number of comments by Obama’s “friends that were less than complimentary.  At the end I purposefully left off the thousands and thousands of gaffes by his running mate and the guy next in line to the presidency, Joe Biden.  I shouldn’t be surprised that even Joe couldn’t find a way to force me to use him in the post.  IT IS EXTREMELY SCARY THAT THIS LOOSE-TONGUED IDIOT IS THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.  He is like an overdone SNL skit though all SNL skits are almost always overdone.  I have to grudgingly admit that the new teeth and hair look better than the old Joe.  You can put new hair and teeth on a pig, but it is still Joe Biden.

Update – AP – Adulterated Press

A few months ago I commented on the transparency of the lame-stream media and the Associated Press specifically as they shamelessly shilled for all things Obama and all things Democrat/Liberal.  Last week The AP’s chairman, Dean Singleton, who was perhaps channeling Chris Matthews outwardly gushed in his introduction of President ObamaHere are a few choice phrases from the “unbiased” “journalist;”

“there is no mistaking his name and even I can’t mess it up. It’s Mr. President.”

Update – Unelected Group of People

It’s funny (scary not humorous) how when you dig into a topic you find much more than expected.  It is also not unusual to hear more about similar topics once you become aware.  Like noticing more of our cars on the road once you buy one.  Soon after my previous post I was listening to syndicated talk show host Jim Quinn discussing Obama’s less-than-veiled threat to SCOTUS.  Quinn was discussing the hypocrisy of Obama’s attacks on SCOTUS as unelected while his Justice Department was looking to a court to declare the Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutionalEric Holder was quoted as saying,

Update: News Briefs – Volume XXXI – Very UnCONSTITUTIONAL

As I was driving to work this morning I thought of perhaps one of the best (i.e. worst) examples of unconstitutional actions by our federal government;

Brief 6:  Shortly after the new year began in 2012 President Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act.  Tucked into the bill is a provision that many believe greatly expands the ability of the federal government take you into custody and hold you indefinitely;

Update – True American Hero – Sheriff Joe Arpaio

Obama’s Justice Department is hot on another “criminal” as they have gone after Sheriff Joe Arpaio from Maricopa County in Arizona. In an AP (Adulterated Press) story the federal government has “found that Arpaio’s office committed a wide range of civil rights violations against Latinos, including unjust immigration patrols and jail policies” and one official “called it the most egregious case he has seen or reviewed in professional literature.” Big Brother (Eric Holder) has given Arpaio until January 4, 2012 to decide if he wants to work out an agreement with Obama/Holder.

Update -True American Hero – Daniel Hannan

Nearly three years ago I identified Daniel Hannan as a True American Hero…he was the forth to achieve this designation.  Mr. Hannan is a staunch defender of American ideals and often offers clear and concise arguements supporting capitalism and free markets and conservatism.  This is more unique in that he hails from Great Britain.

This is an easy post for me as most of it will be using Daniel Hannan’s own words and a link to an article written by him that you will be inticed to read.  The article is a message to “Occupy” folks and an attempt to point them in the right direction to vent their displeasure.  Hannan offers ten points of which I’ll only provide a brief tease;

Update 6 (and final) – A Rough Pitch

This will be the last installment of this series which morphed from the Pittsburgh Pirates’ arbitration results for pitcher Ross Ohlendorf, hence its inclusion in the Money Speaks category. Ohlendorf was the beneficiary of a significant salary increase through arbitration despite being oft injured and possessing a woeful pitching record in 2010. Arbiters determined and the Pirates accepted and paid Mr. Ohlendorf over $2 million dollars for his services in 2011. As the Pirates head home for their last home stand of the season this sticky note was attached to my morning paper.

Update 5 – A Rough Pitch

The headline says it all…

Ohlendorf has rough return to major leagues

The $2 million dollar pitcher had to return to the line up sooner than expected due a colleague’s injury.  The Pirates didn’t do Ross Ohlendorf any favors by starting him against one of the better teams in the National League and the team the Pirates historically have struggle against.

“Making his first start for the Pirates since early April, Ohlendorf allowed 14 baserunners in five innings. The Brewers roughed him up in the second and cruised to an 11-4 victory. Ohlendorf (0-1) gave up seven runs, 11 hits and two walks, with four strikeouts.”
