Half Way to Twelve

Like a bad "Groundhog Day" movie this is what FitBit greets me with every morning.

So this is my “clever” way to brag that I hit the 6,000,000 step mark which is roughly 2,700 miles since January 2012.  After all of this time walking a million steps doesn’t seem like that much except for when I look at how many weeks it will take to real in my next million.  At a 100K steps it would take ten weeks and I haven’t hit that threshold very often.  I blame that on the pesky need to work and pay bills.

For those of you who visit FramingTheDialogue for more than the opportunity to attempt to post spam, I had only really intended to take off about ten days, but fate has a funny way sometimes of kicking you in the “you know what’s” from time to time. I was going to say “nuts,” but female readers have really know personal knowledge of that intensity.

Hitchhikers Guide

As I drove through yet another snow storm and crappy roads I passed a guy walking along a bridge.  I see this guy nearly every day.  I tend to get to work early so I sit in my car and read the paper.  This guy usually walks by on his way to what I assume is his work.  I probably wouldn’t pay him much attention, but he wears a powder blue North Carolina University jacket and it is very noticeable.  I had thought that he must take a bus and walk from his bus stop to work on the island.  I work on an island that doesn’t have bus service.

Life Meanders

1119090658The last 36 hours has been really weird.  Hence the lack of posts for the last two days.  One of the stretches of road that I take to work is a four-lane road characterized by an abundance of traffic signals and they seem to add one more each year.  It is not too bad during off peak hours, but during rush hour it stinks.  I am able to flex my schedule and start early, but the past few months, that has not made much of a difference.
