The Last Patriot

Brad Thor has brought us Scot Harvath meets The DaVinci Code in this thriller.  The Last Patriot still pits the United States against islamist extremists, but President Rutledge has taken the fight to the base of the Muslim issue…The Koran.  While Harvath doesn’t quite give up exotic weaponry, stealthy operations, or enhanced interrogation, he is more concerned with ancient literature, Don Quixote, wooden puzzle boxes and Thomas Jefferson.

Lest You Forget!

The title of this piece is sort of a quote from a speech that President Obama gave to the Turkish legislature in April 2009.  His actual words were; “The United States is not, and will never be, at war with Islam.”  Many of his and his administrations actions certainly bear out his words.  In light of the recent events at Fort Hood and his response to that tragedy, I started to look back at his words and more importantly his actions.  I should let you know that by “his actions” I do mean things that he has done and that members of his administration have done.

A Pressmas Carol – Chapter One

This is Chapter One of a three part short story on a Free Press.

Charles had a hard time sleeping that night.  Next Wednesday was a very big day for him as he had an important presentation to give.  He was not worried about what to say or how to fill the time allotted; that was all prearranged by the host.   He knew that the host’s staffers were busy vetting the “real people” who would be reading the carefully prepared questions.
