Framing the Dialogue

Louder Than Words

illegal immigrationIf you have been conscious over the last few weeks you were not surprised by Obama’s unilateral declaration of Amnesty last night.  The time for words has passed as I am tired of hearing the same old dialogue;

  • Bring them out of the shadows
  • Impeachable
  • Amnesty
  • Comprehensive
  • Defund
  • Unconstitutional
  • Sovereign
  • Executive order
  • Obama
  • Congress
  • Republicans
  • Democrats
  • Immigrants
  • Illegal immigrants (though this term is rarely used in the media anymore – Americans lost that framing the dialogue battle long ago)
  • Power of the purse

Which Side of the Fence Are You On?

Abraham_Lincoln_O-115_by_Gardner,_1865This was attributed to Jeff Foxworthy.  I somehow doubt it though because he generally tries to stay on top of the fence…at least publically.

Which side of the fence?  If you ever wondered which side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test!

If a Republican doesn’t like guns, he doesn’t buy one. If a Democrat doesn’t like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a Republican is a vegetarian, he doesn’t eat meat.  If a Democrat is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

A Harley Biker

governor-palin-harleyA Harley Biker is riding by the zoo in Washington, DC when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion’s cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the collar of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents.  The biker jumps off his Harley, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch.

Not A Dimes Worth of Difference

dimeDemicans and Republicats that’s what they are; the two political parties.  They often fight and try to outwit each other, but far too often they get together and that’s when we really get screwed.  They were recently at it over Obamacare.  Oh the Republicans still officially hate it and the Democrats conversely love it, but lately neither are as far apart as would normally make me comfortable.  The Politico reported that;

You Lie

Obama-Lying-Book_There have been lots and lots of discussions and panels offering advice to Republicans regarding how to improve their brand. Some of the best “advice” comes from liberals who have absolutely NO desire to see Republican’s improve their lot with the electorate. It has been funny to me to watch these serious-faced pundits discuss Republicans as if they really wanted them to succeed. One only has to listen to their advice to know the truth behind their masks. They lie!

My Country Tis Of ME

I am not totally shocked that Mitt Romney lost.  I felt uneasy going in, but really was hopeful that folks would at least recognize that Obama’s policies were and are bad for America.  Living in Pennsylvania we Republicans never have a say in who is nominated for president.  I certainly did not like Mitt, but grew to respect him and like the ticket when he added Paul Ryan.  Obviously not everyone agreed as many conservatives stayed home and many voted for others.  Reading the news and reports since the election there seems to be plenty of blame to go around the Republican camp.  One thing that bothers me about the Republicans is how all of the crap comes out AFTER we lose.  The crap is carefully hidden.

Last Food and Fuel

I once heard Pennsylvania politics described as the “red T” where there is a corridor north-south in the center of the state and an east-west corridor on the upper part of the state that is generally red or republican. The state, however, is generally dominated by the two large urban areas around Pittsburgh and Philadelphia where blue is predominant. I really cannot speak to local Philadelphia politics, but the Republican Party is, if I am being very generous, extremely weak to non-existent in the ‘Burgh.

No They Can’t

One of the things that I struggle with the most in my life is trying to understand how anyone who has ever dealt with government can also BELIEVE that government is the answer to everything.  Somehow government can fix anything. No, They Can’t argues Fox’s John Stossel as he explains “why government fails – but individuals succeed.”  I remember watching Stossel’s hard hitting pieces exposing consumer fraud and he was the darling of the mainstream media winning dozens of Emmy’s.  That all changed when he, in his own way, started questioning some of the ivory towers of liberalism or as I call them, Liberal Alters’

Labor Day 2012

Yesterday’s mail included this littel gem from the Ameriacn Federation of State and Municipal Employees (“AFSME”).  I am not a member…please, but am FORCED to pay my “fair share” to the organization.  I have to pay them one percent of my salary even though they DO NOT REPRESENT my views.  My money pays for this crap!  I know that they’ll argue that my money only goes to pay them to negotiate on my behalf…a function that I did not request.  The idiots forget that money is fungible and any money that I am FORCED to pay to an organization who supports views opposite of mine is criminal or it should be.  Actually they know that money is fungible…they are relying on the fact that public education has so eroded people’s understanding of economics that YOU won’t know.  They know!

News Briefs – Volume XXXII – True Lies

News briefs are a collection of interesting news stories. This edition is all about lies that liers tell to lie to you;

Brief 1:  The attempt Tuesday to use a legal procedure to recall a governor who is not accused of illegal activities failed and Republican Governor Scott Walker won bigger than his original election.  Events (AND NEWS STORIES) leading up to the election seemed to predict a very tight race.  That’s the LIE.  Walker cruised to a win and now the democrat media machine is trying to make the win all about money.  They even are fudging the figures to make it look like the Republicans outspent the democrats.  This is BIG news and a BIG win for TEA Party folks.  If you want proof that this was a very important election look at this loaded quote from ABC Mews the day before the election;
