Framing the Dialogue

My Country Tis Of ME

I am not totally shocked that Mitt Romney lost.  I felt uneasy going in, but really was hopeful that folks would at least recognize that Obama’s policies were and are bad for America.  Living in Pennsylvania we Republicans never have a say in who is nominated for president.  I certainly did not like Mitt, but grew to respect him and like the ticket when he added Paul Ryan.  Obviously not everyone agreed as many conservatives stayed home and many voted for others.  Reading the news and reports since the election there seems to be plenty of blame to go around the Republican camp.  One thing that bothers me about the Republicans is how all of the crap comes out AFTER we lose.  The crap is carefully hidden.

Yahoo Sweet Sixteen

I have no idea how old Yahoo is, nor do I care.  This post started rather innocently as I often peek at the Yahoo headlines sometime during the day.  Sometimes I even get an inspiration from one of the headlines as with Life Unlock on January 24th.  I started paying attention to the headlines and found a trend with their home page…disturbing to me, but not surprising.  I think this is a GREAT illustration of the liberal bias that the mainstream media and even many new media outlets adhere to.

Before I continue with sixteen “candles” of Yahoo bias here is a basic rundown of their position:

I Am What I Am

I’ve had my share of nicknames in the past.  Some nice; some not so nice or flattering.  Every time I got a nickname it was usually “given” by a friend or close acquaintance.  I don’t think even the less likable ones were really meant to harm me or truly disparage me.  In the last two plus years I have been called all sorts of names because I believe that I am Taxed Enough Already.  I don’t belong to any particular TEA Party though I have gone to a few rallies.  I hope that my blog affirms my belief in the principles of the Constitution, the free market, and good old capitalism.

News Briefs – Volume XXIV

News briefs are a collection of interesting news stories…

Brief 1: In the town where ground troops first met in battle during the Civil War (Manassas, VA or Bull Run for you northerners) another battle is looming. Obama’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (“ICE”) held a press conference yesterday proudly announcing that 160 “foreign nationals” (illegal aliens) were arrested. All was not joyful in the story however as local politicians reminded that ICE has a slushy record regarding detaining illegals even when they have criminal records.

News Briefs – Volume XXIII

News briefs are a collection of interesting news stories…

Brief 1:  The Detroit branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Only Colored People (“NAACP”) is having its annual fund raiser and is planning to honor Kid Rock with thier Great Expectations Award.  There is hardly a famous performer who seems to do as much for his home town as Kid Rock so the honor is warranted, however, some NAACP supporters are planning to boycott the event because of Rock.  Rock sometimes uses the confederate battle flag during his performance because he feels like it represents southern rock.  It is funny how some are very sensitive to someone wearing a flag whose original use was for battle during the Civil War, but have no trouble seeing our American flag burned.  The race business makes a lot of people a lot of money so they cannot ever let go of race and frequently see racism where none exists.

Hyperbole (hi-pûr-bi-lee)

Hyperbole is defined as:

  1. A figure of speech in which exaggeration is used for emphasis or effect.
  2. An obvious and intentional exaggeration.
  3. An extravagant statement or figure of speech not intended to be taken literally

Popular liberal hyperbole subjects: Hitler, racist, social security, guns, abortion, voter ????, Hitler (they really like this one), the rich, and a new favorite Egypt’s president Mubarak.

Who Let The Dog Out?

The mascot of our local school district happens to be a dog.  Needless to say there aren’t many sports games played that the famous song by The Baha Men isn’t blared over the loudspeakers ten years after the song was popular and 9.5 years after it was tolerable.

The “dog” in this post is none other than our esteemed VP, Joe Biden.  For the life of me I cannot understand why he is not kept under wraps.  Even the lame-stream media cannot smother all of the things that come out of his mouth.  Maybe his freedom is part of a “contrast” strategy whereby Obama looks bright and measured by comparison.  A more likely scenario is that by shooting off his mouth, BHO can always jettison him before the next presidential election in favor of a more “suitable” running mate.  By “suitable” I mean Hillary (she is famous for wearing pants suits).
