How To Drive a Liberal Crazy

Human Events has been sending out a series of emails listing 365 Ways to Drive a Liberal Crazy based on a book of the same name.  Many are humorous, all are serious, all provide useful information when having a dialogue with a liberal.  I would propose, however, that we not limit the desire to just drive liberals crazy.  I would like to include progressives because that will bring in many from the Republican side who are almost as liberal as liberals, but have one or two conservative positions that make them palatable as politicians (i.e. The Governator).

Liberal Alters – Minority-Friendly Politics

Perhaps the most successful aspect of liberal politics has been their stranglehold on what is called the “main-stream” media. Though that has diminished over the last decade it is still an extremely powerful tool for progressive/liberal. I can think of no better example of this than the mischaracterization that Republicans/conservatives hate minorities while the Democrats/liberals are their champions. The evidence to the contrary is staggering yet is rarely noted when discussions of race enter the dialogue. The blatant disregard of FACTS when making arguments about race boggles my mind though I can understand that as long as liberals get away with it they’ll use it.

Progressive Process Revealed

 I cannot confirm that this is the official process document that liberals/progressives/Democrats use to push their agenda, but the method seems accurate.  My calls and e-mails to Democrat leaders were not returned (or rather I never sent any, but lame-stream media always use that tactic to insinuate that the party would not respond).  I used the diagram to see if it would work for the most recent push for an extension of unemployment benefits and son-of-a-gun it worked.

“With unemployment being extended another 13 months, is it maybe time to just start calling it welfare?”

Astroturf

“Enough” shouted George Soros, “the American people have figured us out.  I am tired of seeing stupid TEA Party folks grabbing headlines.  We need to respond and have our own rally in Washington.  Money is no object.  Just get more people there than Beck had.” 

This is of course fictional, but I envision that similar conversations were held throughout the liberal/progressive elitist organizations and universities since Glenn Beck’s widely successful 8-28 march on Washington.

Pools of Polls

If you are like me and pay attention to politics and current events you have been inundated the past number of years with polling data.  Conservatives tout the results of polls that reinforce their message and the same goes for the progressives on the left.  A persistent poll during George W. Bush’s presidency was about how many Americans were against the war.  The problem with the reporting was that left-progressive main stream media combined those who were just against the war (those on the left) with those on the right who felt that the United States was not doing enough.

Hey There Georgie Boy

One of the keystone techniques of “journalists” (I use quotes as I believe that most news readers do not deserve this title and by enclosing it in quotes it becomes a sort of derisive label) is the loaded question.  They love to thinly veil their viewpoint or deepest wishes by asking loaded questions; questions that are often longer than the answers.  “Journalist” George Stephanopoulos’ “thought-provoking” (there are those quotation marks again) questions are often funny, but in a sad way.  Is there any doubt that Georgie Boy is anything but a progressive shill?

America Unlimited

Most of this book review will consist of excerpts from this inspirational and thought-provoking book by Eric Johnston.  My hope is that many of you will pick up and read this timely book as we wade through our current problems.  I wish that I could reasonable reprint all of the passages that I have highlighted as I read America Unlimited. 

As you read the passages think about succinct Mr. Johnston’s comments are.  I should mention that he was a businessman and the president of the United States Chamber of Commerce.  He also had the opportunity to travel at the behest of the President of the United States.  At the risk of sounding like an chain e-mail, please read to the end (or skip ahead if you are that impatient) for a rather surprising fact.

Brief 1:  New Jersey Governor Chris Christie  is fast becoming my favorite state leader.  From tackling the state budget to  standing up to teacher’s unions he is showing a spine not often present in politicians.    The latest Christie-ism is his response to a reporter who had the gall to question his tone:

Brief 2:  Congressional Candidate Lieutenant Colonel Allen West is a plain-speaking politician who has strong, fundamental, conservative views.  You have to love this guy.  This YouTube video has over 2 million hits.  Any bets that is because of his message?
