There Should Be Investigations

No I’m not talking about the travesty that seems to be developing in Florida with the witch hunt and show trial of George Zimmerman.  Oh he may be guilty of many things…there has just not been enough “official” (i.e. real) facts that have come out into the public to convict him.  In this country, up until a few years ago, that was the role of our judicial system.  The investigations should be about how, under the Regime of Barack Obama, an American company that had been the biggest in the world has been overtaken by a Chinese company.

Don’t Piss On My Leg…

…and tell me it’s raining!

Unemployment:   If you listen to the White House and the mainstream media puppets you’ll think unemployment is trending down and at 8 percent as of February 2012.  Too bad the numbers are cooked (FYI all administrations cook) and are quite misleading…okay not “misleading” but flat out lies.  Gallup offers real unemployment numbers;

REAL UNEMPLOYMENT IS 19.0 PERCENT

If you want to compare the numbers the White House uses then Gallup determined that rate to be 9.0 percent;

Diminishing Returns

Having a car that is nearly eight years old with almost 150,000 miles makes the annual inspection a likely costly adventure. My appointment was Monday so I dropped the car off Sunday night and anxiously awaited the news. I got the call in the early afternoon and Ed, our mechanic, started going through the list; A/C check, battery, tire rotation…little stuff really. Ed hesitated and I said “okay now for the bad news.” The bad news was repairs to the tune of $1,400 (a big part was brakes all around) and that my car would not be ready until the next evening. The real bad news is that Ed did some checking and told me that my vehicle is showing its age and miles. Some of the hidden stuff will probably need to be replaced next year and maybe I may not want to spend that kind of money. Essentially telling me that I’d be paying a lot more money for an old vehicle…or getting diminishing returns on my investment.

The OBA Administration

I’d like to suggest that the Obama Administration be renamed the OBA Administration or the Obama Back-Assward Administration.  When most of us have a problem we try to find and fix using logic.  For instance, my car was having some trouble starting so I had the battery and alternator checked.  If I were to act like the Obama Back-Assward Administration, I would probably have my key checked.  It would be funny except that these folks are “running” the country or should I say “ruining” the country…

No Such Thing As A Stupid Question?

How many times have you heard the phrase that “there is no such thing as a stupid question?” You have probably heard it a hundred times and we generally agree that if someone doesn’t know about a subject the question cannot be stupid. The following comment was posted on a website and while you may allow that the question is not stupid, the person asking is either stupid or lacks intellectual honesty by not doing a little homework before expressing his opinion in the form of questions.

Update – Are The Czars Out Tonight

Much has been written about Obama’s bevy of extra constitutional czars and their seeming unlimited power and lack of congressional oversight. Perhaps even the staunchest Obama-zombie can overlook this power grab because of the promise to fundamentally change the way things are done in Washington. It must be getting hard for the Obama-zombies (and I apologize to regular zombies) to ignore the ever-growing number of examples of the blob-like intrusion of the federal government into even their rose-colored Obama-glasses.

Crying Over Crying Over Spilled Milk

One of my favorite authors, Thomas Sowell, penned an article critical of the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Ordinarily I would concur with his perspective, but cannot bring myself to “park at his ranch” on this issue (I apologize in advance if I lapse into more farm/country colloquialisms). A local syndicated radio host, Jim Quinn, has taken up the mantle and has been talking about the issue. As is often the case when the lame-stream media take up an issue they only scratch the surface thereby missing the bigger picture. In this case these are two conservatives who I respect. This is an excerpt from Sowell’s Townhall article;

The Emperor’s Tomb

Most of us know very little about China and while The Emperor’s Tomb is a novel author Steve Berry provides a glimpse into the past, long history of this great nation. This serves as the backdrop as the main characters struggle to wrest control of the vast country. Mystery and intrigue are a direct theme and in many places I was not sure who the “real” bad guys were.

Keeping Up With The Jones

The joke goes;  A Brit, a Canadian, a Croatian, a Frenchman, a German, an Irishman, a Mexican, a Romanian, a Dutchman, a Norwegian, a South Korean, and a Swede rush out of a bar one day.  Barry the bartender says “What’s the hurry?  Did someone spill something?

The joke unfortunately is on us as our federal goverment has refused the help of these nations to control and clean up the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.  Many of us seriously have our doubts that the White House was on top of things from “day one,” but the linked article provides a glimpse into the fact that many of our allies offered help in our hour of need.  The Dutch, in particular, offered help almost from DAY ONE.  Here we are nearly two months later and the Obama administration is still refusing help from other countries.

No Gulf Trip

Exxon Valdez, Hurricane Ivan, Ruby Ridge, Monica Lewinsky, Iranian U.S. Embassy take over, Bay of Pigs, and Hurricane Katrina were all disasters faced by White House different administrations.  Besides the worst economy and near 10% unemployment Obama has his first “natural” disaster.

So what has Obama done so far?  Not much. Over a week after the disaster he has promised to escalate the federal response to the spill.  The citizens of the Gulf coast should feel pretty good as Eric Holder has sent a team of lawyers to “monitor” the oil spill.  That’s really what the wildlife, citizens, fishermen, and responders need is a bunch of lawyers.  My guess is that there are plenty of ambulance chasers there already.  This move should tell you all that you need to know about this administration.  Lawyers!  Really?
