As I was driving to work this morning I thought of perhaps one of the best (i.e. worst) examples of unconstitutional actions by our federal government;

Brief 1: One option that a president has to get some of his controversial nominees appointed is to wait for Congress to recess and then is able to appoint them to a limited term. I remember celebrating W’s recess appointment of John Bolton as U.N. ambassador. Obama stired controversy on recent recess appointments because Congress was not actually in recess. The Supreme Court and settled law had determined that if Congress was not in session for three or more days then they were in recess. Obama, with the backing of his Justice Department waited ONE DAY to claim a recess and appoint his henchmen. Fortunately we have a strong Congress who cares about maintain the delicate balance of the three branches of government and will soon fix/find a way to reverse the appointments – - Oh wait we don’t have enough Congressmen with the guts to take on Obama.

If you listened to Obama’s State Of The Union Campaign Speech yesterday (I can’t listen to him anymore lest my head explodes) you’d think his administration is all about doing for the “main street” person, protecting the little guy, championing David versus Goliath. Unfortunately his words ring hollow when Obama’s actions tell a different tale. Imagine if, say the Obama Justice Department, chose to use “prosecutorial discretion” when going after law breakers. You expect that to some extent as law enforcement should spend their time on the most serious crimes and Obama has promised to go after big banks who screwed customers using illegal practices,
Any hockey fan knows who Tim Thomas is. He is perhaps the premier goalie in the National Hockey League (and it hurts being from Pittsburgh and saying that). He has been described as “unorthodox” in his style, but he is the current Stanley Cup champion goalie of the Boston Bruins. Part of the celebration of June’s Stanley Cup Victory is for the winning team to make a visit to the White House. I am sure that some Bruin handed Obama a Boston Bruin sweater.
Conspicuously absent from the ceremony was Tim Thomas. It what is being called a snub, Thomas declined the invitation releasing a statement that;

The borrowing refers to the need to yet again raise our debt ceiling and allow politicians the ability to spend more by borrowing more. I, unlike the article’s author, used the term “politicians” rather than just Obama when referring to the one(s) doing the borrowing. This story is should be primer on how the political class (both right and left and middle) play the game to ensure that they stay in power while seeming to play to their bases.
There was a news item a few days ago that got very little attention yet was perhaps the story of 2012 less than two weeks into the new year. It should have been front page above the fold with a bold, red headline. The total debt of the United States now exceeds our Gross Domestic Product, or
“The 100% mark means that your entire debt is as big as everything you’re producing in your country.”
“Economist Mark Zandi of Moody’s Analytics says reaching the 100% mark shows ‘the grave need to address our long-term fiscal problems.”
As I sit in my house and earlier at work I am struck at how the world turns and turns as our country fades and fades. If you read this blog you know that I don’t like the policies of Obama, Democrats, liberals, and progressives. Their positions only make sense if the goal is the end of American as it was founded and prospered these last few centuries. The latest bile to spew from the White House were two, in my opinion, huge decisions by our “Banana Republic” chief executive – B. Hussein Obama.
I hesitate to call my list “news stories” because many of them have not been covered by the Obama-media because they would make the liberal administration look like the miserable failure that it has been. On with the list.
The Economy: If you look past the cheerleading reporting that the recession is over and jobs are being created, and a falling unemployment percent, you might just see how bad things still are. I don’t remember a time where I have sweated my employment for so long. I am not consumed, but the gnawing feeling is always there in the background. As of November 2011 the U6 Unemployment (U-6 = Total unemployed, plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force, plus total employed part time for economic reasons, as a percent of the civilian labor force plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force) rate is 15.6 percent.
