Obama In His Own Words – The Middle East

This is a new series prompted by the recent attacks against America by radical Muslims.  One must consider that our embassies are American soil and rather than react strongly, Obama has sent out his advisers to continue his apology tour further projecting weakness that is his not ours.  Here are his own words from November 2008 (You can listen to the audio at the end if you wish;

Puzzle Me This

“We came, we saw, he died”

Secretary of State Hilary Clinton (Democrat)

I happened to catch some of Sean Hannity’s radio show this afternoon.  He had as a guest long-time Democrat strategist and spokesman Lanny Davis.  Sean had devilish intentions of busting the chops of Davis about President Obama’s poll numbers and suggesting that just about any Republican candidate could win in 2012.  Davis differed on that and suggested that only Romney had the right stuff to challenge Obama (I have to admit to being leery about the Democrat’s consistent position, almost a longing, to have Romney be the Republican nominee).

Coptic Ruse

The Coptic Christians are perhaps some of the most faithful Christians and they have to be as their places of worship seem to in Middle East countries dominated by Islam. As a minority surrounded by many hostile people their faith must be strong. I have to admit that I know very little about this church other than occasional news stories where one of their churches happened to be burned down during Muslim protests.

A recent headline from The Washington Post caught my eye recently,

Lone Wolf

Consider this headline:

Frankfurt Shooting Suspect Likely a ‘Lone Wolf’

The “alleged shooter, Arid Uka, is described as a “a 21-year-old ethnic Albanian whose family moved to Germany from Kosovo,(and) had an “Islamist” motivation for firing at U.S. Air Force personnel.”  I may have my history wrong, but President William Jefferson Clinton got us involved in Kosovo on the side of the Muslims.  Once control was wrested from the government (I know that Milosovic was a “bad” guy) the Christian churches started burning down and atrocities committed against those not practicing the Muslim religion.  At some point, perhaps, authorities will put the puzzle pieces together that, perhaps, a preponderance of evidence, perhaps, exists that since there are so many Muslim “lone wolves” out there that, perhaps, they should no longer be considered lone wolves even though there is not a paper trail linking the wolves.

A Few Words About Egypt

It is hard to even a few hours without hearing troubling news about the events in Egypt.  I have a few thoughts that you may have already heard and wanted to share them without deep analysis that can only reasonably come after the dust has settled.

  • I find it telling that the Obama Administration has delved deeply into the struggles of a nation ruled by a man seemingly unpopular with his people.  A man who rules with an iron fist, but is friendly to the west and Israel.  Obama’s daily calls for another country’s leader to step down is unsettling in that I thought he was against interference with the governance of other countries.

News Briefs – Volume XXI

News briefs are a collection of interesting news stories…

Brief 1:  Let’s call this one “Corn For Clunkers.”  Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency(:EPA”)  is looking out for you or so they claim, but they are not as in tune with what’s good for your car.  EPA has approved the sale of an ethanol/gasoline mix containing up to 15% of the corn-based ethanol.  The only problem is that this mix would be very harmful to engines manufactured before 2007 (that’s two out of three vehicles in our household).  Will someone explain what law gives the EPA the authority to approve/push consumer products?  A group of auto manufacturers and engine makers has filed suit against EPA

Headline Humor – Volume IV

I know many of these stories are serious, but the headlines removed the restrain from my brain and we get headline humor.  These are the actual headlines as I found on-line.  When you click on the headline you will be taken to the original story which more often than not has nothing to do with my vision of the headline.

The Last Patriot

Brad Thor has brought us Scot Harvath meets The DaVinci Code in this thriller.  The Last Patriot still pits the United States against islamist extremists, but President Rutledge has taken the fight to the base of the Muslim issue…The Koran.  While Harvath doesn’t quite give up exotic weaponry, stealthy operations, or enhanced interrogation, he is more concerned with ancient literature, Don Quixote, wooden puzzle boxes and Thomas Jefferson.

Warlord

“S.O.A. [Sword of Allah] was one of the newer Muslim gangs to take power within the American prison system, after only two, maybe three years of existence in hte United States.  It was a group that had already proven itself extraordinarily capable of any atrocity.  Scary things?  Harry told him CIA estimated that total American S.O.A. prison membership already at over five thousand and climbing.  That’s five thousand suicidal terrorists sitting around in the slam every day thinking up new ways to kill Americans.”
