What a Bunch of…

Yahoo’s is the answer. I have a quandary. I don’t want to use Google for web searches because of their overt hypocrisy of supporting Obama, cow-towing to China and other tyrannical nations, and their “official” spin that they are somehow all about freedom for individuals. Out of habit I have tended to use Yahoo for my searches, but these folks are mind-numbingly (I don’t think that is a word) bad. I posted a “Sweet Sixteen” of Yahoo’s banners a while back so I am never surprised, but today’s banner was beyond the pale.

The OBA Administration

I’d like to suggest that the Obama Administration be renamed the OBA Administration or the Obama Back-Assward Administration.  When most of us have a problem we try to find and fix using logic.  For instance, my car was having some trouble starting so I had the battery and alternator checked.  If I were to act like the Obama Back-Assward Administration, I would probably have my key checked.  It would be funny except that these folks are “running” the country or should I say “ruining” the country…

Dancin In D.C.

“He’s like a man who took two dates to the prom and is trying to keep them both happy. He may not pull it off, but he is dancing as fast as he can.”

                                              – – Brit Hume

Mr. Hume of course was discussing President Obama as he continues to wiggle to be all things to all people while refusing to lead on important issues as a world leader should. Obama has become the quintessential politician whose sole goal seems to be getting reelected. As of this writing and reported in The American Thinker, Obama has made 31 fundraising trips so far in 2011. This is above and beyond the numerous rounds of golf.

Running Man

It is often interesting to look at the ease with which non-incumbent candidates can point to the incumbent’s record and critique their performance and bloviate about what they would do in similar situations. It is hard to prevent such a successful strategy and we have learned with the current resident of the White House that a blank slate can be a powerful tool when combined with a thorough lack of inspection of a candidate’s qualifications by both the main stream media and many of the voters.

Headline Humor – Volume IV

I know many of these stories are serious, but the headlines removed the restrain from my brain and we get headline humor.  These are the actual headlines as I found on-line.  When you click on the headline you will be taken to the original story which more often than not has nothing to do with my vision of the headline.

Decision Points

If you love George W. Bush you’ll still love him; If you hate him you’ll still hate him; If you are like me and fit neither extreme you probably won’t be moved from that position either.  One thing that he is most proud of was that under his watch we were not attacked after 9/11.  I appreciated the speed with which the government moved into “protect” mode after those attacks.  Did they go too far with the Patriot Act…probably.

Pools of Polls

If you are like me and pay attention to politics and current events you have been inundated the past number of years with polling data.  Conservatives tout the results of polls that reinforce their message and the same goes for the progressives on the left.  A persistent poll during George W. Bush’s presidency was about how many Americans were against the war.  The problem with the reporting was that left-progressive main stream media combined those who were just against the war (those on the left) with those on the right who felt that the United States was not doing enough.

Who Let The Dog Out?

The mascot of our local school district happens to be a dog.  Needless to say there aren’t many sports games played that the famous song by The Baha Men isn’t blared over the loudspeakers ten years after the song was popular and 9.5 years after it was tolerable.

The “dog” in this post is none other than our esteemed VP, Joe Biden.  For the life of me I cannot understand why he is not kept under wraps.  Even the lame-stream media cannot smother all of the things that come out of his mouth.  Maybe his freedom is part of a “contrast” strategy whereby Obama looks bright and measured by comparison.  A more likely scenario is that by shooting off his mouth, BHO can always jettison him before the next presidential election in favor of a more “suitable” running mate.  By “suitable” I mean Hillary (she is famous for wearing pants suits).

Lies The Government Told You

“Dear reader, since you have actually picked up and read this book, it might be a little late for a warning.  Just in case you thought you were safe to read whatever you choose.  I want to warn you that your reading habits may be monitored for ‘suspicious’ behavior.  Considering the title of this book, your name might now be on a list authorized by the Patriot Act…”

You may have enjoyed the insightful commentary by Judge Andrew P. Napolitano on many cable news shows.  I always considered him a rather conservative-leaning man.  I bought the book expecting it to take shots at left-wing Democrat politics and it does that.  The Judge, however, is just as critical of the Republicans.  I should have known since Congressman Ron Paul wrote the forward.

We Are Not At War With Islam

Lest You Forget!

Lest You Forget!

The title of this piece is sort of a quote from a speech that President Obama gave to the Turkish legislature in April 2009.  His actual words were; “The United States is not, and will never be, at war with Islam.”  Many of his and his administrations actions certainly bear out his words.  In light of the recent events at Fort Hood and his response to that tragedy, I started to look back at his words and more importantly his actions.  I should let you know that by “his actions” I do mean things that he has done and that members of his administration have done.
