As The Chamberlain’s Waffle

Iran misslesReports are that this satellite photograph is the first one released to the West or at least the public in the West.  It shows an Iranian ballistic rocket; a rocket with the range to reach Europe and the United States and capable of carrying a warhead.  But we should trust them.  They want nuclear energy and have no interest in following up on their threat of destroying the Great Satan…that’s us you know.  Let’s keep negotiating with them until they invade other countries and ultimately come for America.

What a Bunch of…

Yahoo’s is the answer. I have a quandary. I don’t want to use Google for web searches because of their overt hypocrisy of supporting Obama, cow-towing to China and other tyrannical nations, and their “official” spin that they are somehow all about freedom for individuals. Out of habit I have tended to use Yahoo for my searches, but these folks are mind-numbingly (I don’t think that is a word) bad. I posted a “Sweet Sixteen” of Yahoo’s banners a while back so I am never surprised, but today’s banner was beyond the pale.

Dancin In D.C.

“He’s like a man who took two dates to the prom and is trying to keep them both happy. He may not pull it off, but he is dancing as fast as he can.”

                                              – – Brit Hume

Mr. Hume of course was discussing President Obama as he continues to wiggle to be all things to all people while refusing to lead on important issues as a world leader should. Obama has become the quintessential politician whose sole goal seems to be getting reelected. As of this writing and reported in The American Thinker, Obama has made 31 fundraising trips so far in 2011. This is above and beyond the numerous rounds of golf.

News Briefs – Volume XXIII

News briefs are a collection of interesting news stories…

Brief 1:  The Detroit branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Only Colored People (“NAACP”) is having its annual fund raiser and is planning to honor Kid Rock with thier Great Expectations Award.  There is hardly a famous performer who seems to do as much for his home town as Kid Rock so the honor is warranted, however, some NAACP supporters are planning to boycott the event because of Rock.  Rock sometimes uses the confederate battle flag during his performance because he feels like it represents southern rock.  It is funny how some are very sensitive to someone wearing a flag whose original use was for battle during the Civil War, but have no trouble seeing our American flag burned.  The race business makes a lot of people a lot of money so they cannot ever let go of race and frequently see racism where none exists.

A Few Words About Egypt

It is hard to even a few hours without hearing troubling news about the events in Egypt.  I have a few thoughts that you may have already heard and wanted to share them without deep analysis that can only reasonably come after the dust has settled.

  • I find it telling that the Obama Administration has delved deeply into the struggles of a nation ruled by a man seemingly unpopular with his people.  A man who rules with an iron fist, but is friendly to the west and Israel.  Obama’s daily calls for another country’s leader to step down is unsettling in that I thought he was against interference with the governance of other countries.

Decision Points

If you love George W. Bush you’ll still love him; If you hate him you’ll still hate him; If you are like me and fit neither extreme you probably won’t be moved from that position either.  One thing that he is most proud of was that under his watch we were not attacked after 9/11.  I appreciated the speed with which the government moved into “protect” mode after those attacks.  Did they go too far with the Patriot Act…probably.

Stiki Wiki

There is a lot of furor over the latest release of stolen classified documents by Wikileaks and their subsequent publication by many media outlets including the New York Times.  No surprise that the NYT would publish classified documents that embarrass the United States as they have done in the past.  The surprise is perhaps that the documents diminish their lord and president, Barack Hussein Obama.

The Twelfth Imam

“O mighty Lord, I pray to you to hasten the emergence of your last repository, the Promised One, that perfect and pure human being, the one who will fill this world with justice and peace.  Make us worthy to prepare the way for his arrival, and lead us with your righteous hand.  We long for the Lord of the Age.  We long for the Awaited One.  Without him – the Righteously Guided One – there can be no victory.  With him, there can be no defeat.  Show me your path, O mighty Lord, and use me to prepare the way for the coming of the Mahdi.”

News Briefs – Volume XVI

News briefs are a collection of interesting news stories…

Brief 1:  Pennsylvania’s legislature is earning their money as they consider a ground-breaking piece of legislation.  The legislation, described by Rep. Scott Perry, will allow citizens to defend themselves anywhere you have a lawful right to be…It’s important we are allowed to avail ourselves of our constitutional right to protect ourselves.  Right now, the scales are tipped to criminals or perpetrators, and I want to see the scales tipped back to law-abiding citizens.”  If they can pass the legislation you you would be able to defend yourself without having to flee first.  If this is a “constitutional right” then why do we need a bill to allow it?  Perhaps the saddest thing is not so much that we need this legislation, but that our legislature cannot seem to pass it and that Gov. Rendell seems hesitant to sign it into law.  Maybe there is a critical vote on Pennsylvania’s state cookie.

Finish It – Volume 1

This series is a variation of the game you play with your fortune cookie by adding the phrase “in bed” after your fortune.  In this case the headline will be displayed followed by the phrase that should follow.  I hope that you enjoy.
