Kelly VS Weiner

The following debate between Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) and Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA) is very interesting.  Also appearing is Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) and the ever annoying Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL).  I apologize that I could not edit Schultz out of the clip, but the exchange between Kelly and Weiner toward the middle of the clip is worth the wait.  I love how Rep. Kelly blasts Weiner.  I would LOVE to know what was going through Kelly’s mind as he showed restraint when dealing with the twerp Weiner.

News Briefs – Volume XIX It’s All About Healthcare Baby

News briefs are a collection of interesting news stories and this edition is all about Obamacare…

Brief 1:  Many seasoned citizens were shocked at AARP’s support of the Obamacare legislation which contained a significant cuts to doctor’s fees and cuts in allowable payments to hospitals.  The fear, of course, is that many provider would simply stop accepting Medicare patienst, a majority of which are the aforementioned senior citizens.  One had to wonder who the AARP, a membership organization, was actually lobbying for?  Just recently the AARP had announced that their employees will see a rise in their health care costs in a statement from an AARP spokesperson;

Pools of Polls

If you are like me and pay attention to politics and current events you have been inundated the past number of years with polling data.  Conservatives tout the results of polls that reinforce their message and the same goes for the progressives on the left.  A persistent poll during George W. Bush’s presidency was about how many Americans were against the war.  The problem with the reporting was that left-progressive main stream media combined those who were just against the war (those on the left) with those on the right who felt that the United States was not doing enough.

Misunderestimating

I wasn’t sure whether to  list this posting as an update to I Dream of Health Care or my review for Judge Napolitano’s book Lies the Government Told You.  I punted and selected neither.

This headline from the Associated Press may qualify for the Homer Simpson “DUH” awards;  “Report: Health overhaul will increase tab.”  The assessment wasn’t by any “right-winged” think tank or pundit.  The Health and Human Services Department provided the bad news except that it is too late as the bill is now law.  The article listed more bad news regarding long-term care insurance and medicare so read at your own risk.  Here are some of my predictions:

Hungry Shopping

Last Saturday morning I slept in a little and headed off to go grocery shopping at my favorite warehouse club.  I didn’t have time to eat breakfast before I left so I planned to have lunch at the club after shopping.  Plus it was Saturday and I knew the sample booths would be out in force attracting crowds of shoppers.    The free sample thing really works as I picked up a few extra items, but the traffic jams near the little carts can be irritating.  I am not sure why folks feel they have to eat the sample in front of the server.  That’s one of my pet peeves.

America’s Tell

For those of you who don’t play or watch poker, a tell is something a player does that tips off his opponents to the quality of his hand.  A twitch of the eye, becoming too chatty, different breathing, or even becoming quiet all of a sudden can give your hand away.  In head to head competition allowing your opponent to  know your hand will ensure an eminent loss of chips.

I think that Americans can only hope that President Obama is one heck of a bluffer as he doesn’t seem  to be holding his hand close to his vest:

Obamacare…The Beginning!

In a show of inordinate CLASS President Barack Hussein Obama mocked those of us who opposed his health care bill:

“You have to love some of the pundits in Washington.  Every day since I signed reform into law, there’s another poll or headline that says ‘Nation still divided on health reform. No great surge in public support.’ Well, yeah. It’s only been a week!”

So what happened the first week when United States corporations were required by Securities and Exchange Commission Rules to restate earnings based on the new “pro-business” Democrat Care program.

Goin Galt…Please

I am beginning to believe that the only chance for America is for the wealth builders to stand up to the leaches in government and the citizenry.  All to often lately corporations are looking to get their piece and go along to survive rather than thrive.  Are they out there?  A few have made some noise…
