Rules for Radical Conservatives

“Ivan is thrilled.  Mikhail is devastated.  All their lives, they have been equal, the way good Soviet Men should be.  They had nothing, and nothing is what they shared equally.  You could not have asked for a purer expression of true communism.  As Mikhail watches Ivan’s lot improve, he seethes.  He complains to the local soviet, but there’s nothing they can do, because even in the U.S.S.R., it’s not against the law to have a cow.  Mikhail briefly considers reporting his friend to the Cheka, but finally decides against it; after all, he’s not a bad man, just a poor man…he does something he’d almost forgotten how to do.  He prays…’All my life I have striven to be a good atheist and not believe in you.  But now, I humbly come to you directly.  Please, God, please hear my prayer.  Please make us equal again.’  For a moment all is silent.  Then, to his utter amazement, a voice emerges out of the clouds, a voice that only he can hear, ‘Mikhail,’ says God, ‘your prayers have been answered.  You shall be made equal again.’  Mikhail leaps to his feet in disbelief.  A look of transfigured radience plays across his noble Slavic peasant features.  He cannot believe his good fortune. ‘Oh good!’ he exclaims. ‘You’re going to kill Ivan’s cow!”

Talk Me Off Of the Ledge

No I am not planning to throw myself off of a tall building, but life as a conservative seems rather harsh and I keep looking at how easy it is for liberals with more than a little jealousy.  Life for a liberal is quite simple…

  • It’s a life where they can go from Global Cooling will kill us unless we do something, to Global Warming will kill us unless we take drastic (and costly) measures, to a nice balance of Global Climate Change which gives them cover to every climate situation.  They seem to have no qualms about making these label changes and are as vociferous in their arguments.  Oh and they have the backing of the elitist media. That’s much better than the facts.

Liberty Quotes

What better way to celebrate the Independence of the United States than a collection of quotes from some of the great minds that contributed to our country’s history…

“Let the Fourth of July always be a reminder that here in this land, for the first time, it was decided that man is born with certain God-given rights; that government is only a convenience created and managed by the people, with no powers of its own except those voluntarily granted to it by the people. We sometimes forget that great truth, and we never should. Happy Fourth of July.”

Quiet Strength

As someone who lives in Steeler Country I have great memories of Tony Dungy as both a player and a coach.  I think the best way to describe the impact that he had was the fact that he only played a few years here yet I remember his play.  It was always noted about how “football” smart he was and that he would certainly become a coach and though his playing career was rather short he soon became the coach of former teammates who were much older.  In Quiet Strength  Tony Dungy shares his journey as a player, coach, Super Bowl champion , and most important to him, father and man of God.

Costco Disconnection

CostcoIf you asked my family, they may describe my relationship with Costco as a special one.  I do most of the grocery shopping for our family and I do most of it at Costco.  I have belonged to our local store since it opened many years ago and even have a favorite parking spot (though I rarely get it).  My youngest often goes with me and we enjoy snack-shopping (being fed lots of samples while we shop) and having lunch together after we shop.  My chili recipe ingredients starts with two big packs of Costco ground chuck, a big pack of red peppers, a huge can of whole tomatoes, and a huge can of tomato paste (I should explain that we have a huge freezer and this recipe makes enough for about ten meals).

A Frog As A Metaphor

A “FROG” that constantly changes colour is being worshipped as a GOD in by the Main Stream Media (MSM).  Hundreds of curious followers flock to network television every day to pray and ask for miracles and handouts.  None of the country’s MSM desire to study the rainbow frog.  But alternative media keeps the creature in a glass house and under a spotlight after finding it while it ran for office out of Chicago.

Alternative media said: “Our one problem is that this frog does not appear to listen to reason. I keep trying to feed it information, data and proof, but it doesn’t eat anything. I don’t know what else to give it.”
