Update – Costco Disconnection

1130092042A month ago Costco featured former VP, Al Gore, on their magazine cover.  Many members of the warehouse club expressed our displeasure with both the free publicity for Gore (he was hawking a book) and the shot the editor David Fuller seemed to take at Glenn Beck who was charged by Costco for the same privilege to hawk his book.  The second of these issues is what I objected to and posted my original Costco Disconnection.  I was surprised at the comments and how fast members responded to my comments.  The Costco Connection even posted a comment.

Update – Gore’s Global Scheme Has A Fever

One of the high kings of the man-made global warming cabal addressed the hacked document scandal.  It should be noted that while the materials included e-mail messages, the documents also included studies and data that the cabal would not make available for scientific review.  It seems as if you had to almost pledge to be in their camp to view any data.

George Monbiot, one of the cabal’s leading propagandists discussed the documents.  As seems to always be the case, these stories break in other countries and never seem to make it to our lame stream media.  Andrew Bolt, a writer from Australia, posted what seems to be a frank admission by one of the Gore Fever Planet Cabal;

Costco Disconnection

CostcoIf you asked my family, they may describe my relationship with Costco as a special one.  I do most of the grocery shopping for our family and I do most of it at Costco.  I have belonged to our local store since it opened many years ago and even have a favorite parking spot (though I rarely get it).  My youngest often goes with me and we enjoy snack-shopping (being fed lots of samples while we shop) and having lunch together after we shop.  My chili recipe ingredients starts with two big packs of Costco ground chuck, a big pack of red peppers, a huge can of whole tomatoes, and a huge can of tomato paste (I should explain that we have a huge freezer and this recipe makes enough for about ten meals).

Arguing With Idiots

Arguing with idiotsThis is my third Glenn Beck book that I have read and it is by far the best.  As a person who pays attention to political issues, I found An Inconvenient Book and Common Sense a little basic though containing new information.   In Arguing with Idiots Glenn Beck provides a great deal of information for people in tune with politics and enough to blow the others away.  Glenn should have provided either some duct tape with the book or at least a coupon to buy a roll.

Rule 13 Redux

We have another example of Saul Alinsky’s Rule 13 being effectively used to destroy another opponent of the left.  As a refresher, Rules For Radicals – Rule 13 is:

“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”

The target was fairly easy to pick this time as Glenn Beck of Fox News and his syndicated daily radio show.  Glenn was probably a wise pick as he really does not fit into the strict conservative mold.  He certainly drives me mad sometimes with the gloom and doom scenarios, but there is no doubt that he is a patriot.  His book, Glenn Beck’s Common Sense, is a best seller and he released the book directly to paperback to maximize its availability.  Beck also does not seem to be held in the same regard as conservative hosts like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, or Mark Levin.  We should all be listening to how these hosts address Glen’s situation.

Glenn Beck’s Common Sense

As I listened to  his program last week, Glenn and Stu were discussing, Glenn Beck’s Common Sense.  One thing that they were discussing grabbed me; our congressmen earn more than 95% of ALL American families.  In addition to the nice salary, they also provide themselves with such necessities as subsidized gym memberships, free parking in Washington, and even their own cafeterias.  These cafeterias are exclusive meaning you or I cannot eat there even though we are paying for it.  It is interesting that their salary always falls beneath any demagogued “rich” salary.

Country Wisdom & Know How

I am driving to meeting and listening to Glenn Beck go on and on about the end of our country as we know it.  This is really heavy stuff and I am getting more and more depressed and it is all that I can do not to drive headlong into a bridge abutment lest my head explode.  But I listen and I learn.  I think that Glenn’s next book should be titled “Not For the Squeamish.”

True American Heroes – Carrie Prejean

The Miss USA Pageant is not high on the list of anyone’s must see television.  It seems like a kind of antiquated show from the past.  Many probably did not know that it was even still on the air.  My only real memory of the contest was when long-time host Bert Parks sang the theme song as that year’s winner took her victory lap.  Actually thanks to Glenn Beck this morning, I learned that there is actually a Miss America Pageant (that’s the one Bert Parks hosted) and Miss USA Pageant (Trump’s version).

Update – True American Heroes – Rick Santelli

Update March 27, 2009:  Rich Santelli started a firestorm (in a great way) across the United States with his comments a month ago.  Tea parties have been been held across the country attracting up to 15,000 at an event in California.  Glenn Beck has championed the tea party movement and has provided a link to planned events.  April 15 seems to be THE big day for tea parties with an estimated 150 planned.

In a recent posting on the Investor’s Business Daily Editorials page, they questioned the lack of coverage by the mainstream media.  I think that many of us who no longer get their news from traditional sources know why.

Hating America

The title of John Gibson’s book leaves nothing to the imagination.  The new world sport is Hating America.  You will not be surprised to hear that Arabs (AKA Everybody from the Middle East, except Israel) hate us.  You may not even be surprised to hear that the French hate us.  Who cares about the French?  I prefer Freedom Fries anyway.

I probably would not rock your world if I told you that the World hates George W. Bush or that the Germans hate us too.  Some my find it a little depressing, but we Americans do not really care what others think because we are arrogant.
