Then & Now

This was forwarded by a friend.  I have had to make some format changes and couldn’t help make a few comments of my own…

Here is our change from January 2009 to today!

SOME WILL APPRECIATE THIS AND SOME WILL NOT. HOWEVER, ALL OF IT IS TRUE.

After three years of Obama ….Here’s your change!

• Avg. Retail price/gallon gas in U.S.

2009: $1.83

Today: $3.44 (this was several weeks ago and the average price is over $4.00)

 • Crude oil, European Brent (barrel)

2009: $43.48

Today: $99.02

Takes Two To Tango

Perhaps one of the saddest statistics that can be pinned to George Bush’s second term and hyper-inflated by the Obama Administration is the fact that as of August 2011 more than 45 million people were receiving food stamp benefits. So approximately 14 percent of Americans need government to survive. Since half of the recipients are children their parents are obviously unable to properly care for them. These “safety net” programs have morphed into the natural order of things for many families; relying on the government dole to exist.

“When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.”

Econ 1

The Great Vilsacko performs his money magic trick.

I am currently reading Return to Prosperity by Phd economist Arthur Laffer and I’ll review the book as usual after I finish it, but a recent statement by President Obama’s Agriculture Secretary had me referring to the “Econ 1” phrase Dr. Laffer uses frequently when describing politicians lack of knowledge that is taught in a basic economics class. Secretary Vilsack appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe to tout the benefits of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (“SNAP” or Food Stamps as we used to call it). Vilsack called SNAP the “most direct stimulus you can get into the economy during these tough times.” I guess that he also considers the fact that America has vastly increased the number of people “stimulating” the economy as 1 in 7 people are in the program. Let that sink in…NEARLY 15 PERCENT OF OUR FELLOW AMERICANS GET FOOD FROM THE GOVERNMENT!

News Briefs – Volume XXIX Land of the Free

News briefs are a collection of interesting news stories.  This edition is all about America the land of the free.  The “free” used to refer to our God-given freedoms outlined in our founding documents, but the term has mutated over decades of nanny-state policies to mean what the government “gives” us for free.  There is perhaps no better continuing example of the progressive, left-winged, drive-by, main-stream media’s collusion with Democrats than its continuing dumbing down of Americans.  Although the scarier part is that many accept, even crave the handouts.
