Framing the Dialogue

My Country Tis Of ME

I am not totally shocked that Mitt Romney lost.  I felt uneasy going in, but really was hopeful that folks would at least recognize that Obama’s policies were and are bad for America.  Living in Pennsylvania we Republicans never have a say in who is nominated for president.  I certainly did not like Mitt, but grew to respect him and like the ticket when he added Paul Ryan.  Obviously not everyone agreed as many conservatives stayed home and many voted for others.  Reading the news and reports since the election there seems to be plenty of blame to go around the Republican camp.  One thing that bothers me about the Republicans is how all of the crap comes out AFTER we lose.  The crap is carefully hidden.

Getting By With A Little Help From My Friends

The "Justice Brothers" -  Attorney General Eric Holder and Assistant Attorney General in the criminal division of the Justice Department Lanny Breuer.

If you listened to Obama’s State Of The Union Campaign Speech yesterday (I can’t listen to him anymore lest my head explodes) you’d think his administration is all about doing for the “main street” person, protecting the little guy, championing David versus Goliath.  Unfortunately his words ring hollow when Obama’s actions tell a different tale.  Imagine if, say the Obama Justice Department, chose to use “prosecutorial discretion” when going after law breakers.  You expect that to some extent as law enforcement should spend their time on the most serious crimes and Obama has promised to go after big banks who screwed customers using illegal practices,

2011 Top Ten News Stories

I hesitate to call my list “news stories” because many of them have not been covered by the Obama-media because they would make the liberal administration look like the miserable failure that it has been.  On with the list.

  1. The Economy:  If you look past the cheerleading reporting that the recession is over and jobs are being created, and a falling unemployment percent, you might just see how bad things still are.  I don’t remember a time where I have sweated my employment for so long.  I am not consumed, but the gnawing feeling is always there in the background.  As of November 2011 the U6 Unemployment (U-6 = Total unemployed, plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force, plus total employed part time for economic reasons, as a percent of the civilian labor force plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force) rate is 15.6 percent.

Holder’s Hapless Honor

I have a suggestion.  It is probably not very practical.  It would be fairly impossible to accomplish, but I would love to have it work for a while.

First I’d like the Republican presidential candidates to suspend their campaigns for a month, maybe 45 days.  No more endless debates, no more Cain bimbo eruptions, no more Perry gaffes, no more Romney (actually vanilla-flavored Romney has pretty much been quiet), Newt can still zing the media.  Let’s no longer give the media fodder so they can avoid and provide cover for what should be the big story on every night’s newscast.  Second let’s forget about Kim Kardashian’s fake marriage and all other Hollywood drivel.  Third let’s ignore anything with the word “occupy” anywhere in the title.

A Liberal Walks Into A Bar…

…And lowers it!

Lowering the bar gets A+ at city schools

Demonstrating the importance of a good education the City of Pittsburgh Public School Board decided that grades were so important that they would accept nothing less than a grade point average of 1.5 for any student wishing to participate in sports or other extracurricular activities (That’s D+ for those of you who grew up when I did).  We cannot have any football players ineligible because of low grades.  The “lowering the bar” part is because prior to this the bar was a full “C” or 2.0 grade point average.  That requirement must have decimated the ranks of the chess club and the forensics team.  Lest your heart (and mind) be too troubled by the lower standards any “students who are at a 1.5-1.99 GPA must take part in a probationary program aimed at getting them to a 2.0. If they haven’t achieved this in two semesters, they would be ineligible for activities including sports, band and club activities” unless there is a chance that a city football team can capture a state championship.  We wouldn’t want to deprive any kids of that honor.

Liberal Alters – Main-Stream Media

November 2008 was the liberal, main-stream media’s crowning glory as they were complicit in hoisting an unknown, untested, inexperienced person upon the American people.  The information about Obama’s past was out there, but was not covered in the lame-stream media who were too busy and too left-leaning to offer a balanced view of Senator Obama.  Ultimately it is the fault of the American voters who cast their ballots for Obama/Biden and relied on the media’s fairy tale about the first black president.  Not only was the press fawning over Obama, but they threw former favorite Hillary under the bus to support Barack and pushed very hard for Republican “maverick” John McCain to be the GOP nominee.  McCain was the candidate long before I even had the chance to cast my primary vote.

Stiki Wiki

There is a lot of furor over the latest release of stolen classified documents by Wikileaks and their subsequent publication by many media outlets including the New York Times.  No surprise that the NYT would publish classified documents that embarrass the United States as they have done in the past.  The surprise is perhaps that the documents diminish their lord and president, Barack Hussein Obama.

New Briefs – Volume X (Obama Unplugged)

News briefs are a collection of interesting news stories…

This session is all about our Organizer-In-Chief:

Brief 1:  Dorothy Rabinowitz wrote an opinion piece for the Wall Street Journal yesterday peering into the inner workings of Obama’s mind.  Rabinowitz describes him as “the alien in the White House” since he is more in tune with his ideology than average Americans.  As President of the United States he is, perhaps, the leader of the free world and he seems to gravitate to that role yet forgetting that his is our President first.Â
