Predisposition (pree-dis-puh-zish-uhn)

The dictionary defines predispositions as:

  1. the fact or condition of being predisposed: a predisposition to think optimistically.
  2. Medicine/Medical . tendency to a condition or quality, usually based on the combined effects of genetic and environmental factors.

Sun’s Free

One of the things that I hope to accomplish with FramingTheDialogue is to link news stories and try to show their connection and often contradictions.  It is surprising, but not unusual to find more than one article on a related topic in different sections of the newspaper.  The most recent were two articles about CFL/Incandescent light bulbs that I wrote about in Watt TF.  Recently the following three articles were available on the same day though I cannot remember whether they were available on the same media outlet.

Wish List For Our Second 21st Century Decade

ChosenOneI guess that it is tradition to end the previous year and start a new year with some wishes or resolutions for the future.  As we move into the second decade of the 21st century I have a few of my own…hopefully for your enjoyment:

  • My first wish is for the lame stream media to start to enjoy the fact that they were successful in getting their man elected to the White House.  It has been almost a year so it is time for them to give up the ghost of the George W. Bush presidency and myths that they like to promote such as the 2000 election was stolen, Cheney was really in charge, and that Bush was both stupid and fiendishly cunning.

Barack’s Christmas List Discovered

Emboldened by the folks who released the data and e-mails creating the Climategate scandal (except for the United States) someone has accessed White House computers and has found President Barack Obama’s Christmas List.  Rumor is that Obama is still a Christian even thought he had to be guilted into putting up the White House nativity Magic Obamaballscene.  The list was partially released to The Garlic web site who leaked only one of the items on his list. 

Based on recent Rasmussen presidential polls, most Americans are thinking he is more naughy than nice so the jury is still out on whether he will get this gift.

The British Are Coming

GoreAs the United States’ Lame Stream Media continues to ignore the Climategate scandal, the Brits continue to be on top of things.  I don’t usually post to simply link to someone’s article, but this expose from the UK’s Daily Express on Natural Climate Change Deniers lists 100 reasons why climate change IS natural.  Take the time to read the list as many of their talking points are debunked.

Is Blackmail Too Strong A Word?

You can be the judge regarding whether the term blackmail should be attributed to the actions of government officials in the following two stories. 

blackmail ravenstahlThe first story features local politicians in the City of Pittsburgh.  As a little background, the City of Pittsburgh has been in state receivership for a number of years because city officials cannot control their spending.  One of the biggest factors is their underfunded pension funds.  Pittsburgh’s Democrat boy mayor, Luke Ravenstahl, has quite a scheme to raise taxes (it always seems to be about raising taxes) without really ticking off his constituents.  He has decided to impose a one percent tax “tuition” tax on all students attending institutions of higher educations within city limits.  His position is that they receive “services,” but do not pay anything towards them.

New Carbon Dioxide Rule Riles

epa_sealLeaders from around the world are flying their private jets to Copenhagen this week to attend a summit to develop a framework for global governance predicated on man made global warming or climate change.  With this meeting as a backdrop, the United States Environmental Protection Agency is expected do designate carbon dioxide as a dangerous pollutant.

This ”endangerment” finding by the Environmental Protection Agency could pave the way for the government to require sources that emit carbon dioxide and five other greenhouse gases to take measures to reduce emissions regardless of whether the legislature passes the unpopular cap and trade legislation.
