A snapshop paints a thousand words this one of Yahoo tells you what the mainstream media wants you to read

This story about identity theft sounds about as exciting the next story about identity theft except that the perpetrator was not interested in stealing money or assets. Zach Edwards has been accused and arrested for attempting to steal the identity of Matt Schultz. This is still not titillating for you? Here is the headline from the story from the Des Moines Register:

Iowa Secretary of State Matt Schultz Targeted for Identity Theft by Former Obama Staffer

Herding Cats

Now with over eighteen months in the White House the Obama Regime is having to come to grips with ruling versus running.  Even though he still seems to be in campaign mode, Obama has to be coming to the realization that being the President of the United States is not anything like community organizing.  He can no longer say anything he wants or make conflicting promises.  He is still doing it, but citizens have expectations that are not being met.

My Kind Of Town

Now this could only happen to a guy like me

And so I say to each of you most gratefully

And only happen in a town like this

As I throw each one of you a kiss

This is my kind of town, Chicago is

Sometimes you find the perfect image to illustrate your post.

Chicago is having a pretty good year if you follow the old adage that all press is good press.  Even with “bad” press you are still in the news.  The Blackhawks made it to the Stanley Cup Finals.  Their junior member of the Senate is now the President of the United States and many of Chicago’s operatives are now employed by the White House.

My Turn At Bat

Sorry this is not a baseball post.  Those of us living in Pittsburgh with the hapless Pirates; holders of the longest losing streak of all professional sports (17 years and counting) don’t talk about much about professional baseball.  Our president gave his first pitch at a State of the Union speech and apparently did not hit the strike zone.  I confess to not watching as I could not bear to see Ms. Pelosi popping up every 30 seconds, Obama’s use of the words “I” or “me” a gazillion times or his unusual speech pattern whistling his S’s.  The fact that he is on television every 17 hours giving a speech did not weigh in his favor either.  I played tennis on our Wii (I achieved “Pro” status during his speech).

News Briefs – Volume III

Brief 1:  The Associated Press reported that a man stripped off his clothes and began to jog near the White House.  He was quickly apprehended and taken to a hospital for mental health observation.  The nude jogger posed no threat to the President, who was home at the time.  It was unclear, however, whether CNBC’s Chris Matthews would be available for his Hardball telecast or would be committed to a mental health facility for further observation.  An angry Keith Olberman was overheard saying, “That damn Matthews.  I wish that I had thought of that.  That would make Obama love me more.”

Separated At Birth – Hamilton/Obama

Hamilton - Obama dancing lower res

Ashley George Hamilton gathered what little celebrity he had to garner an appearance as a contestant on this season’s Dancing With the Stars.  In case you were wondering, he was considered one of the stars.  Most people had never heard of him before his rise to fame, but he was voted one of People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People.  Many thought that his appearance on the show would give him a boost and he could have been a slam dunk for the finals.  Fate (or a lack of talent) did not smile on him as he had the dubious distinction of being the first to be voted off of the show.   There is no word from Hamilton on future plans…maybe Celebrity Apprentice.
