Control

controlThis is a very good book by Glenn Beck that will be devoured by his fan base and heartily ignored by most everybody else as he exposes the truth about gun control.  In Control, Beck and his coauthors use the most common arguments of the gun control crowd and not only questions the “data” that they love to quote, but shows that their data is wrong.  He also uses many of their direct quotes as an introduction to the sections.  Glenn Beck’s purpose was to give us the ammunition (I couldn’t resist that one) to respond to the lies often used by the Michael Bloomberg’s of our world.

Misguided (mis-ˈgī-dəd)

The dictionary defines misguided as:

1. led or prompted by wrong or inappropriate motives or ideals, well-meaning but misguided do-gooders

2. poorly conceived or thought out.

Synonyms: unwise, mistaken, foolish, misled, misplaced, deluded, ill-advised, imprudent, injudicious

double-standardExample 1: Nanny MO (Michelle Obama) has been a champion for obesity, okay anti-obesity. She recently came out with some ideas on how to better run supermarkets. She has a special knowledge since she probably hasn’t routinely purchased food for her family for at least five years and probably longer. Certainly her background as a lawyer has prepared her for this campaign and it is a worthy one…up to a point. Education is important, but when she steps into the “government control” mode my hackles rise;
