Framing the Dialogue

Right to Abort

texasAre you like me and getting tired of the incessant fight from folks who seem driven to kill unborn babies.  No matter how they want to frame the act as “right to choose” it’s still abortion…killing an unborn child.  I’ve heard pro-life pundit predict that history will look back on this period as a very dark period where millions and millions of babies were killed.  Think of how we now look back on slavery.  While I am not trying to equate the two, but you have to admit that ripping out a living child to end its life is at least as bad as slavery.

Political Theatre

hopelessI’m sitting in a hotel “free breakfast” area on this crappy Sunday morning four hours from my home.  The coffee is quite good, the food is okay, the news is frustrating. My online news triumvirate starts with Drudge then I Hate the Media (website and my feelings about mainstream media), and end with Breitbart And this headline;

WV governor vetoes abortion bill, sparking outrage from national pro-life group

The bill protects unborn babies after 20 weeks.  So you would presumably be able to kill the unborn up until that point so this is at best a start on reigning in abortions.   West Virginia’s governor Tomblin sited legal concerns as his reason to veto the legislation passed by the Democrat-controlled congress is the state;

Indefensible (in·de·fen(t)-sə-bəl )

The dictionary defines indefensible as:

1. Incapable of being maintained as right or valid

2. Incapable of being justified or excused .

indefensibleSynonyms: inexcusable, inexpiable, insupportable, unforgivable, unjustifiable, unpardonable, unwarrantable

This is where I usually start the examples and I will soon.  The muse for this post was a commercial shown on Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren’s show last night.  The commercial was from a group opposed to Stand Your Ground Laws throughout the United States.  The images and sound in the commercial exploit the Zimmerman/Martin killing in Florida.  I began to think of the number of issues that the left/progressives/liberals/Democrats oppose that make the most sense to the rest of us.  Here we go!

Update – If We Can Save One Child

A few days ago I posted about the hypocrisy of Obama and the Left using the tragedy of the Newtown murders to achieve their agenda about gun control. In that original post I listed several actions that would save a lot more children’s lives than their attack on the Constitution and the Second Amendment in particular. Some were serious, many were not, all were meant to prove a point. I failed to name the biggest thing that liberals like Obama can do to save children’s lives…millions of children’s lives…every single year!

Talk Me Off Of the Ledge

No I am not planning to throw myself off of a tall building, but life as a conservative seems rather harsh and I keep looking at how easy it is for liberals with more than a little jealousy.  Life for a liberal is quite simple…

  • It’s a life where they can go from Global Cooling will kill us unless we do something, to Global Warming will kill us unless we take drastic (and costly) measures, to a nice balance of Global Climate Change which gives them cover to every climate situation.  They seem to have no qualms about making these label changes and are as vociferous in their arguments.  Oh and they have the backing of the elitist media. That’s much better than the facts.

News Briefs – Volume XXXI – Very UnCONSTITUTIONAL

News briefs are a collection of interesting news stories. This edition is all about how Obama’s unconstitutional actions WILL affect your life

Brief 1:  One option that a president has to get some of his controversial nominees appointed is to wait for Congress to recess and then is able to appoint them to a limited term.  I remember celebrating W’s recess appointment of John Bolton as U.N. ambassador.  Obama stired controversy on recent recess appointments because Congress was not actually in recess.  The Supreme Court and settled law had determined that if Congress was not in session for three or more days then they were in recess.  Obama, with the backing of his Justice Department waited ONE DAY to claim a recess and appoint his henchmen.  Fortunately we have a strong Congress who cares about maintain the delicate balance of the three branches of government and will soon fix/find a way to reverse the appointments – – Oh wait we don’t have enough Congressmen with the guts to take on Obama.

The Trees Rather Than The Forest

I heard a rather dramatic radio advertisement this morning and since I usually tune out commercials I didn’t really catch all of it. Radio being what it is I heard the ad several more times. The following is the ad by the Evangelical Environmental Network;

Puzzle Me This

“We came, we saw, he died”

Secretary of State Hilary Clinton (Democrat)

I happened to catch some of Sean Hannity’s radio show this afternoon.  He had as a guest long-time Democrat strategist and spokesman Lanny Davis.  Sean had devilish intentions of busting the chops of Davis about President Obama’s poll numbers and suggesting that just about any Republican candidate could win in 2012.  Davis differed on that and suggested that only Romney had the right stuff to challenge Obama (I have to admit to being leery about the Democrat’s consistent position, almost a longing, to have Romney be the Republican nominee).

News Briefs – Volume XXV

News briefs are a collection of interesting news stories…

Brief 1: Never content to accept a win, special interest groups (perhaps the bane of our society) have already begun to dissect America’s victory when a team of soldiers killed Osama. The Onondaga Indian tribe released a statement criticizing the use of the code name “Geronimo” for bin Laden,

“Think of the outcry if they had used any other ethnic group’s hero. Geronimo bravely and heroically defended his homeland and his people, eventually surrendering and living out the rest of his days peacefully, if in captivity…Geronimo is arguably the most recognized Native American name in the world and this comparison only serves to perpetuate negative stereotypes about our people…Why would that be honorable to us? All they know is just cowboys and Indians, the stuff they saw on TV.”

Mike’d Up

No longer relegated to 60 Minutes or Dateline NBC to nab crooks, perverts, and household scammers.  Extra-ordinary citizens have become empowered to expose corruption and lies that the main stream media will not.   Perhaps the worst type of people are those who present a public image, but when the “cameras” are off they expose themselves among friends and like-minded people.  Sometimes the “cameras”, microphones, or even cell phones are still recording and I would like to celebrate those who venture to expose the true feelings of elitists.  The weird thing about Bill Clinton was that I always had this feeling that he was this type of person, but I have been shocked that there had never been a smoking gun tape showing this.  Either he is genuine or is really good…I feel that he is really good.
