Framing the Dialogue

Spiking The Ball I Am Not

Osama’s dead!  The bipolar White House (I appologize to people who suffer from bipolar disorder) cannot seem to figure out whether they want to be Terrell Owens or Hines Ward…showman/media hog or someone who has been there before.  Their actions speak much louder than their words…

…and these are Obama’s words

“”It is important for us to make sure that very graphic photos of somebody who was shot in the head are not floating around as an incitement to additional violence or as a propaganda tool. That’s not who we are. We don’t trot out this stuff as trophies…we don’t need to spike the football.”

Perhaps Mr. Obama used the incorrect sports metaphor.  I would describe his actions more like taking a victory lap.  To further abuse the racing metaphor Obama drafted off of the Bush Administration’s handiwork then nudged him to put his car into the wall racing to victory.

Anyone who believes that Obama won’t release the pictures is a nut.  He’s going to milk this until November 2012.  He’ll fight the FOA requests in court to delay everything until it suits him to release the photographs.

As an asside, I always found it humorous that Microsoft Word’s spelling and grammar check flags Obama’s name and suggests “Osama” as a correction.
