Framing the Dialogue

Phrase-e-ology

There’s A Whole Lot O Fracking Out There

Fricking-Fracking-NIMBYMany times as I read an article I find a few sentences that capture the essence of the piece. In “Phrase-e-ology” I’ll post some thoughts followed by key phrases. As always I’ll have a link (in blue) to the original article…

You could have knocked me over with a feather. My eyes saw it, my mind read it, my head shook in disbelief. Though not the Holy Grail I did read an actual balance article on energy from the Associated Press. Maybe journalism is not dead yet? Two writers from the AP take on some celebrities who have talked the talk, but not walked the walk, nor even have gotten the talk quite right…

Uncertain Returns

The original article ran in the Lancaster Journal Online this past Sunday. The crux of the article was about how some farmers are not seeing the returns on their investments that they expected when they installed solar panels on their buildings.

Taking Care of…Himself

I read this morning about the pending retirement of Camille “Bud” George from the Pennsylvania legislature at the ripe old age of 84 and after 19 House terms!  So that is nearly forty years that Mr. George has been looking out for the “people” or at least that is how it is being characterized;

Hey Arnold

Arnold Ahlert

I had this thought and included it in my My Country Tis of Me posting a few days ago.  I heard a talk show discussing this very thing I had mentioned about the Republicans giving Obama everything he wants thus pinning everything on him.  I know it sounds suicidal, but Mr. Arnold Ahlert posted the same thing, but in more detail and he did it two days before my post, though I hadn’t seen his until tonight.  Here are some key phrases and as always read the linked article…in two parts.

Charles In Charge

Nearly three and a half years ago I dubbed Charles Krauthammer a True American Hero.  Most of the folks to whom I have given this honor have lived up to the title, alas some have not, but Charles Krauthammer remains one of my favorites.  I look forward to Fox News’ Brett Baier and his all-star panel and especially Mr. Krauthammer’s commentary.  His words are especially delicious when he follows the liberal “newsperson” usually seated to his right and soundly refutes their assertion.

Saving The World

As always I’ll have a link (in blue) to the original article.  Sadly I find that the better, truer, more honest articles are found in British or Canadian media outlets.  The tilt of America’s lame-stream media is well documented and so far in the tank for liberals it is essentially no longer a “free press” that we can count on for news and information.  The recent victory by Wisconsin’s Governor Scott Walker has been covered though the import has been marginalized by the left media.  The actions by Alabama have been ignored exempt for the British Press;

Just when I thought the lame-stream-media just couldn’t get any worse in their quest to re-elect Barry Sortoro (AKA BHO) ABC News (hardly a news organization anymore) had this headline today;

MLK, Jr. Was a Republican

A few years ago Human Events posted an article about Martin Luther King, Jr. and the fact that he was in fact a Republican and generally, and contrary to the fiction taught and put forward by media, the Democrats fought AGAINST rights for blacks.  It is appropriate to review the FACTS (not the liberal narrative) about Mr. King, Jr., the Democrats, and the civil rights movement.

Phrase-e-ology – The New Normal

The latest episode of Phrase-e-ology is from the business section and was startling in that it seems to be making the case for the sluggish recovery as the “new normal” rather than the direct result of bad economic policy from the Obama White House.  As if this is now how we should expect recoveries to unfold.  Even as Obama’s economic advisers abandon his ship for academia (they’re much better at theory than reality) the “new normal” may actually be some sub-standard level that he can actually achieve…as long as he can fool the electorate that they are doing better…
