Framing the Dialogue

Lighter Side

Studio Wrestling

At the risk of sounding really old wrestling was different when I was growing up.  It was still scripted (AKA fake – alegedly), but it was less “steroidial,” fewer sweaty stares, no maniacal rants, and weird in a good way.  I grew up with Studio Wrestling and athletes named The Iron Sheik (a bad guy from the Middle East would cause CAIR to file a lawsuit today), Jumping Johnny DeFazio, Bobby “Hurricane” Hunt, Chief White Owl, Larry Zbyszko, George “the Animal” Steel, Baron Mikel Scicluna, Ivan Putski, Killer Kowalski, and Pittsburgh’s own Bruno Sammartino.  Bruno Sammartino was the ultimate good guy in professional wrestling and being from our home town, we all loved him and rooted for him and hated his many enemies on the canvas.

Obama Baby

[This is perhaps best enjoyed if you sing along with the song Santa Baby as you read (I could not find a decent karaoke version).]

Obama Baby

Obama baby, slip an earmark under the tree, for me
We’ve been an awful good donor
Obama baby, and fleece another taxpayer tonight

Obama baby, keep your promise to screw the rich, let em bitch
I’ll wait up for you dear
Obama baby, and fleece another taxpayer tonight

Think of all the taxes you’ve got coming due

On The Spam Again

It is funny that the day I posted my second article about interesting/weird messages I get with spam, my spam blocker caught over 100 new spam (that’s a lot for me).  So as long as spammers post silly spam I will share with you their insights, poor English, compliments, and their attempts to lure me into their porn sites.  This collection is the best(or worst) of the best from Akismet’s 5,000 caught spam since my last 5,000 caught spam, which is 5,000 more (that is 15,000 spam in case you are keeping track).  I don’t embellish or fix their spelling:

56 Chairs

I have mixed emotions about government workers.  Being one at various points in my life (including now) gives me some insight to the issues facing them/us.  I have only worked in a regulatory agency and my experiences with the DMV, USPS and other favored agencies to bash are the same as yours.  I have always had good experiences with the people who work at these facilities, but many folks seem to regard them as little more than misfit toys.  Most of my impatience comes from their customers who are not prepared when they get in line thus making the rest of us endure longer waits.

Tis The Season

Guess which one is me (hint - my beard is fake)

The weather outside wasn’t quite frightful though the high never cracked 30 degrees, but it would have been nice to have been able to stay all snug in my bed.  But visions of Christmas shopping pushed me instead.  To Target, to Home Depet, to WalMart and Subway to be fed.  Sorry!  I got carried away so I’ll get back to writing instead.  STOP before I see red!

Update – Twelve Days of Obamacations

I asked for this information in my original post and someone took the time to calculate the cost of the Obama’s trip to India and other points East.  I expected the cost to be staggering, but this trip defies even my gut feelings.   It’s only going to cost the United States’ citizens/taxpayers $200 million each day for the Obamacation.

That’s $200,000,000.00 EACH DAY

I am at a loss for words.

Twelve Days of Obamacations

The hoopla surrounding the Obama’s “historic” trip to India following the expected Democrat/Obama thumping at the polls on November 2 has really not reached fever pitch yet so I wanted to get my licks in early.  Amid concerns of Indian officials that his visit will increase the likelihood of violence as extremists look for publicity the level of security has been heightened.  While the President deserves security, maybe some accommodations could be made for economy.  We are in the worst recession since the Great Depression after all.
