Framing the Dialogue

Framing The Dialogue

Smash The Hoax

One of the more difficult issues to broach with a liberal is the topic of man-made global warming. It is perhaps the left’s most glorious achievement; the solid way they have convinced a large portion of the population that the “sky is falling.” It is even more egregious than that because those who are “skeptics” (that’s classic framing-the-dialogue) because if you don’t agree you are a “skeptic” of the “settled science” rather than someone who has an opposing view. If you are lucky, being called a skeptic is the nicest label the religion of global warming will place on your soul.

A Growing Ignorance

jobless menThe headline of the article in today’s paper was “A Growing Hunger” with a subheadline of “While jobless rates plummet, the opposite can be said of the number of people in need of food assistance.” [you can view the article here]

I will stipulate that this article was written about the growing need for many families still feeling the pinch of Obama’s recession.  I know that the article isn’t about how there really is not a recovery.  There is even mention of that;

“It doesn’t feel like the economy’s improving…It feels like it’s getting worse.”

There is Hope All Around

As the title suggests, there is hope all around us.  I have come to believe that the media is the worst enemy of our country.  They exploit our worst traits to sell us shoes, makeup and prescription drugs.  From reality shows to thousands of diet tips to photoshopped images of “celebrities,” media sets the dialogue…and sadly we watch.

There is a growing concern among thinking people who have a sense of history about the antisemitism rearing its ugly head in Europe, America, and around the world. What could be better for those who hate Jews than a weak Israel…

“Green” Activism is Red

imageA recent story by Breitbart News highlights one of the reasons that I started this blog.  A smallish group of elitists (I am VERY careful not to call them “elites” first because they are NOT and second because that’s what they think they are) decide to save the world. They do know best.  The link above will take you to the original article, but I just wanted to give you some highlights here. You need to read the article and pass it along to friends.

Louder Than Words

illegal immigrationIf you have been conscious over the last few weeks you were not surprised by Obama’s unilateral declaration of Amnesty last night.  The time for words has passed as I am tired of hearing the same old dialogue;

  • Bring them out of the shadows
  • Impeachable
  • Amnesty
  • Comprehensive
  • Defund
  • Unconstitutional
  • Sovereign
  • Executive order
  • Obama
  • Congress
  • Republicans
  • Democrats
  • Immigrants
  • Illegal immigrants (though this term is rarely used in the media anymore – Americans lost that framing the dialogue battle long ago)
  • Power of the purse

I’ve Lost SNL

There is a famous quote from the 1960s after  “America’s Newsman,” Walter Conkite was said to have commented the America could not win the war in Vietnam (“But it is increasingly clear to this reporter that the only rational way out then will be to negotiate, not as victors, but as an honorable people who lived up to their pledge to defend democracy, and did the best they could.”). President Johnson upon hear this was to had said;

“If I’ve lost Cronkite, I’ve lost Middle America.”

The following clip is perhaps the most critical hit on Obama from SNL.
