Framing the Dialogue

Above Suspicion

above suspicionOriginally published in 2001, Above Suspicion was the first murder mystery novel featuring detective Anna Travis. As the daughter of a highly regarded detective in England Ms. Travis has a lot to live up to as she participates in the investigation of a series of grisly murders. The killer hasn’t switched MOs, but has chosen more compelling victims. Travis has a keen mind that is put to the test as she gets close to both her grumpy boss and to the murder suspect…perhaps too close.

Author Lynda La Plante keeps up the suspense as the detectives gather information trying to tie the murders to the suspect and while you really don’t have a mystery about who is the prime suspect the detective in you will enjoy the hunt and be on the edge about what the hunted will do before caught. There are some graphic “scenes,” but this should be enjoyed by most adults.

This is the first of a series and I have ordered some of the subsequent books and look forward to reading them.
