Liberal Alters – Main-Stream Media

November 2008 was the liberal, main-stream media’s crowning glory as they were complicit in hoisting an unknown, untested, inexperienced person upon the American people.  The information about Obama’s past was out there, but was not covered in the lame-stream media who were too busy and too left-leaning to offer a balanced view of Senator Obama.  Ultimately it is the fault of the American voters who cast their ballots for Obama/Biden and relied on the media’s fairy tale about the first black president.  Not only was the press fawning over Obama, but they threw former favorite Hillary under the bus to support Barack and pushed very hard for Republican “maverick” John McCain to be the GOP nominee.  McCain was the candidate long before I even had the chance to cast my primary vote.

Update 3 – Liberal Alters – Unions

One of the typical accusations about labor union leaders is that they no longer really represent their members and pursue their own agendas…agendas that most of their members do not support even to the extreme of advocating a socialist or even communist viewpoint regarding collective bargaining.  There can be no denying that labor unions spend hundreds of millions of dollars collected from members to support Democrat candidates that push for stronger union control of labor markets.  When union members voluntarily give their pay to union bosses that is free choice.  However when workers, like myself, are force to pay a “fair share” to unions to which we do not wish to belong that should be illegal.  My earnings are taken from my pay, given to unions, and often given to the very politicians who forced me to pay the unions.  They didn’t make me join, but they take a percentage of my pay without my approval.

Spy Catcher

The book’s inscription says “One of my gifts, January 14, 1989.”  The gift was given a year or so after Spy Catcher was first published and I found it on a shelf at the End Of The Line bookstore (a charity bookstore in a train car).  The selection is vast, but is hit or miss as far as any particular book.  I have found some rather unusual and old books.  Spy Catcher caught my eye and I thought it was a novel about the world of espionage.  Had I paid attention to the cover I would have noted that it was subtitled “The candid autobiography of a senior Intelligence Officer.”  Author Peter Wright was indeed a “spy catcher” or perhaps more accurately a spy suspecter.

Fox Bites Man

There is an old Jamaican proverb,

“no call alligator long mouth before you pass him by”

Essentially you should wait until you are a safe distance away before you call out a dangerous animal.  Three months ago I wrote Fox Hunt after George Soros funded Media Matters announced that they were going after Fox News.  Perhaps George Soros believed that his David would heroically slay the Fox News Goliath.  This Goliath has been fighting back and most recently has begun actively questioning why Media Matters still enjoys non-profit status when they are blatantly participating in political activities.  We know that only the NAACP is allowed to participate in political activities and still maintain their non-profit status.  The Politico reported that,

Dancin In D.C.

“He’s like a man who took two dates to the prom and is trying to keep them both happy. He may not pull it off, but he is dancing as fast as he can.”

                                              – – Brit Hume

Mr. Hume of course was discussing President Obama as he continues to wiggle to be all things to all people while refusing to lead on important issues as a world leader should. Obama has become the quintessential politician whose sole goal seems to be getting reelected. As of this writing and reported in The American Thinker, Obama has made 31 fundraising trips so far in 2011. This is above and beyond the numerous rounds of golf.

Liberty Quotes

What better way to celebrate the Independence of the United States than a collection of quotes from some of the great minds that contributed to our country’s history…

“Let the Fourth of July always be a reminder that here in this land, for the first time, it was decided that man is born with certain God-given rights; that government is only a convenience created and managed by the people, with no powers of its own except those voluntarily granted to it by the people. We sometimes forget that great truth, and we never should. Happy Fourth of July.”

News Briefs – Volume XXVIII

News briefs are a collection of interesting news stories…

Brief 1: Call out the “gender pedagogues” as the heading of this post News “Briefs” may not be gender neutral. Actually the gender pedagogues were hired by the Edalia preschool in Stockholm Swedento help staff identify language and behavior that risk reinforcing stereotypes” so that boys are no longer boys and girls are no longer girls…they are all referred to as “friends.” How cute! And when visitors come they don’t refer to “him” or “her” they call them “he

The Bourne Legacy

Author Eric Van Lustbader seems to have successfully captured the magic of Robert Ludlum’s Jason Bourne series with The Bourne Legacy.  David Webb (Jason Bourne’s real name) has seemed to settle in to a quaint life as a college professor until an attempt on his life setting off a series of events that has him hunting and hunted by “friends” and enemies alike.  The trail leads him to Europe where he discovers a fiendish plot by terrorists to do bad things, really bad things (I don’t want to give up too much information).
